I am an artist and art teacher based in the Philadelphia suburbs. I grew up in Philadelphia and returned some years after finishing college and graduate school in the Boston area. I completed my undergraduate degree at Wellesley College and earned my master's degree in art education at Massachusetts College of Art. Leaving the Philadelphia region helped me develop a greater appreciation for some of my favorite things here- the architecture and the many wooded creeks that flow into the Delaware River. Much of this has been the focus of my work since returning.
I am indebted to my high school art teacher, Alice Cook, for inspiring me to become a painter and an art teacher. I have taught Kindergarten through eighth grade in the Boston Public Schools, adults at Moore College of Art, and currently I teach high school students at Penn Wood High School just outside of Philadelphia. It is my hope that some of them will be as inspired as I was when starting out on the exciting path of learning to paint.
